9 a.m. – Sunset: Alabama Plein Air Artists paint on location in the village
Thursday through Saturday, enjoy watching artists paint from life in the Cahaba Village! Most of the artists are comfortable engaging in short conversation and being observed by pedestrians while they work, but please be considerate of their time. Keep conversations brief. And always ask for permission before taking photos. Thank you!
Come see their finished paintings on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Mall Pavilion! Paintings will be for sale.
Friday, April 28

6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.: Welcome the Gee’s Bend Quilters
Join us as we welcome the Gee’s Bend Quilters to Trussville! They are known around the world for their quilting heritage and artform! Gee’s Bend Farms in Boykin, Alabama, shares a history with the Cahaba Homestead Village in Trussville. They were both community projects developed in Alabama by the federal government during the Great Depression!

Saturday, April 29
9 a.m. – 5 p.m.: Gee’s Bend Quilting Workshop
The Gee’s Bend Quilters of Alabama are known around the world for their quilting heritage and artform! This is the first time they are coming to Trussville! Space is limited. Register early for this unique experience!
LOCATION: TRUSSVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY
WORKSHOP FEE: $50 (plus processing fee)
WORKSHOP IS SOLD OUT
2 p.m. – 4 p.m.: Pickleball Exhibition; winning team announced at 4 p.m.
Come watch a friendly pickleball competition in the Cahaba Project!

4 p.m. – 6 p.m.: Alabama Plein Air Artists Art Sale and Exhibition on the Mall
Come and see what the artists have painted around the Cahaba Project!

5 p.m. – 8 p.m.: Concert Picnic on the Mall
*Rain Date: Sunday, April 30 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
