Trussville welcomes back the Gee’s Bend Quilters, artists painting the Cahaba Homestead Village, and the Historic Home Tour welcomes guests to the Cahaba Village once again! Plus, more events are in store!
Be sure to check out the flower quilt art at the Trussville Entertainment District starting April 18! Triple Care Lawn & Landscape was inspired by the Gee’s Bend Quilters’ artwork and made a flower quilt to display! Make sure you take some photos in front of it and share with the hashtag #TrussvilleHeritageDays! Be sure to tag us!

Put your local knowledge to the test!
Test your knowledge of the historic Cahaba Project and Trussville general history at this FREE themed Jeopardy game as part of 2024 Heritage Days! There are 12 spots to fill for four total games of this hyperlocal Jeopardy extravaganza hosted by the Trussville Public Library and the Cahaba Homestead Heritage Foundation. Spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Sign up with two of your friends to face off against each other or see who you’re randomly paired against! Winners of each of the four games will win some awesome prizes donated from local businesses from around Trussville! This event is sure to be a fun and informative time!

Mall Pavilion and Surrounding Area
More than a dozen Alabama artists will be painting local homes and scenes with their easels set up throughout Trussville! Some of them will be painting around the Mall area on Friday, April 19 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Come watch them paint. Practice good “plein air” etiquette: ask the artists if they don’t mind you taking pictures and ask if they don’t mind talking while they’re working (it takes a lot of concentration).

Tickets for this event cover two days of a quilting workshop!
Unique opportunity to learn from the talented ladies of Gees Bend! Registration is limited to 24 participants. Co-sponsored by the Cahaba Homestead Heritage Foundation, this event is part of the CHHF 2024 Heritage Days celebration.
Cost: $100 (plus processing fee)
Supplies you should bring:
- Sewing machine (unless you plan to hand sew)
- Needles
- Ruler
- Thread
- Scissors
- Rotary cutter with mat (optional)
- Fabric
- Straight pins with container or pincushion
We will provide ironing stations. Lunch will be provided both days. Details will be available closer to the event date.

Trussville Entertainment District Stage
Enjoy music and art! The concert is free to the public and family friendly! More than a dozen Alabama artists will show their paintings of Trussville’s historic district, storefronts, and the Cahaba River that they have created over the week! Paintings will be available for purchase. There will also be a floral installation by Triple Care Lawn & Landscape mirroring a Gee’s Bend quilt.

Trussville’s Historic Area
The 2024 Historic Home Tour in Trussville’s beloved historic district is presented by the Cahaba Homestead Heritage Foundation. Homes on the tour include “The O.G.,” “Cottage Charm,” and the oldest home in Trussville, “Ante Bellum Belle” located just north of the Cahaba Homestead Village. Proceeds from the Historic Home Tour support a Daffodil Trail in Trussville’s historic district! All ticket holders who purchase tickets before Sunday, April 21 are eligible to win a raffle basket filled with gift certificates and items from Trussville businesses!
