For the third annual Heritage Days, Trussville welcomes back the Gee’s Bend Quilters, Alabama Plein Air artists painting the Cahaba Homestead Village, and new musical guests at The Gateway – Trussville Entertainment District! The Heritage Home Tour welcomes guests to the Cahaba Homestead Village once again, plus more in store!

The Gateway – Trussville Entertainment District

Adam Craig, Ray Fulcher, and Jordan Walker are set to play a FREE writer’s round on The Gateway – Trussville Entertainment District stage from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 4. The event, sponsored by Trimm Design Build, is free to the public.

Craig has written songs recorded by Jason Aldean, Dustin Lynch, Montgomery Gentry, Parmalee, George Strait, Kane Brown, and Cody Johnson, among others. His first hit song, “Close Your Eyes,” was recorded by Parmalee, after which Craig was signed to a record deal with BMG Records. His single “Just A Phase” charted in the top 30.

Fulcher has co-written six No. 1 songs and has had more than 25 songs recorded by Luke Combs, along with cuts by Chris Young, Zac Brown Band, Riley Green, Kameron Marlowe, and Dillon Carmichael, among others. As an artist, Fulcher has more than 30 million streams to his credit. Fulcher’s debut full-length album, “Spray Painted Line,” was released by Black River Entertainment in 2022.

Walker, formerly of the country music duo Walker McGuire, has had songs recorded by Combs, Johnson, Brown, Cole Swindell, Jordan Davis, Trace Adkins, and Drew Baldridge, among others. Walker has been signed to Sony Music Publishing Nashville since November 2019. He was a co-writer on the multiweek No. 1 single “When It Rains, It Pours” by Combs, which has been certified by RIAA as a diamond single.

We are excited to host China and Mary Ann for our third annual Heritage Days quilting event! This is a great opportunity to get photos, books signed, and purchase a one-of-a-kind item from their collections. Registration preferred for planning – thank you.

Whether you are a beginner or an expert quilter, China Pettway and Mary Ann Pettway will help you grow your skills and your heart.

Registration through the Trussville Public Library will open March 1. This year, workshop participants can choose to attend Friday only, Saturday only, or both Friday and Saturday.

A ticket for this event covers ONE day of a quilting workshop – Friday, April 4 OR Saturday, April 5. Attendees are welcome to purchase a ticket for each day to have a two-day workshop experience.

Unique opportunity to learn from the talented quilters of Gee’s Bend! Registration is limited to 24 participants for each day. Co-sponsored by the Cahaba Homestead Heritage Foundation, this event is part of the CHHF 2025 Heritage Days.

Cost: $50 (plus processing fee) per day

Supplies you should bring:
Sewing machine (unless you plan to hand sew)
Needles
Ruler
Thread
Scissors
Rotary cutter with mat (optional)
Fabric
Straight pins with container or pincushion

We will provide ironing stations. Lunch will be provided both days. Details will be available closer to the event date.

The Alabama Plein Air Artists will once again paint throughout the Cahaba Homestead Village from April 1-6. Look for them throughout the week as they paint the beautiful scenes Trussville’s historic district offers!

Heritage Home Tour

In the case of inclement weather, ticketholders will receive an email by 9 a.m. Sunday if the tour is to be rescheduled at a later date.

Get your tickets for the Heritage Days 2025 Home Tour in Trussville’s beloved historic district, presented by the Cahaba Homestead Heritage Foundation. The four unique homes on the tour include an original footprint cottage, a renovated 1-story and a recently renovated 2-story on the Mall, and a new home that embraces its links to the past.

Proceeds from the Home Tour support “Cahaba 100” projects in Trussville’s historic district! All tickets must be picked up at the check-in table at the Cahaba Elementary School parking lot during home tour hours. Will-call tickets will be reserved under the name placed with the order.

All tickets purchased before April 5 are eligible to win 2 raffle baskets filled with gift cards from Trussville businesses!

Tickets can be purchased at the Home Tour check-in table on April 6. And will be CASH and VENMO only.
